A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"First time having curry rice here. Was introduced by my father-in-law. We had 3 separate curry rice dishes individlaly for lunch today. I had the 卤肉 aka lor bak aka fatty meat with tofu and cabbage. Whole my dad ordered 2 fried chicken wings, cabbage and tomato tuna. My mum had the tomatoa tuna with bitter gourds and tofu. (Can refer to the pictures). I have eaten quite a lot of different curry rice like the scissors cut curry rice type, but this is different. This feels very local like cai fan aka mixed rice, but still with thr elements of curry rice in it. My dad loved the fried chicken wings, and that is one of their signature dish to order. Note this place only accepts cash payment only also. It gets slightly crowded during lunch, and queues form at night.. so be ready to queue if you are coming for dinner. Seating wise, not much seats and tables for dining in. Its price is reasonable and thats why its a plus for locals too. SGD$8.50 for 3 individual curry rice."
"Extremely affordable food. Rice portion wasn't large, but what you get is still value for money. Taste is average, and my food cost $3, which many of you would find cheap. Snaking long queues with little indoor seating. Many people also packet many fried chicken wings at once, and the wings sell out really fast. The wing was actually really well-fried and crispy, although the taste was nothing to harp about. This stall is really worth supporting, and this is the reason it gets 5 stars although it is lacking in the taste department."
"A typical mixed veg rice shop with lots of variety to choose from situated below HDB. The place is always crowded and has a wait time of about 20-30 mins to get the food as the queue is long. One of the cheapest shops i have seen in Singapore. You get 1 veggie and 1 meat with rice for 2 dollars and the chicken wing is just 1.1 dollar (cheapest in Singapore i have seen). You can choose more variety if you are hungry and still it won’t exceed 5 dollars, totally justifies the price tag and very economical. The chicken wing left a little sweet for my taste pallet but was good and the other items i tried were decent too. Must visit place if you love veg rice and looking for an affordable meal."
"The most affordable food in Singapore! Chicken wings are the bomb. The rest of the dishes above average taste. However because the food gets sold so fast you will never get a chance to choose from a complete spread. Just have to buy whatever is available at the moment."
"I seldom give 5* to caifan store. Came here after seeing hongisbored YouTube. The Q is really long so prepare to wait. My conclusion is that it is worth the wait. My brother order 2 plates of 2 vegetables 1 meat 1 carb, 1 takeaway of 2 vegetables 1 meat 1 carb and 3 takeaway fried chicken wings. All for $10.80 Food is in the modest portion size but the taste is definitely homecook maximum. The initial ASMR bite and savoury taste of the chicken wings is the finishing blow. I will be back for more if I am around the area. PS: They only accept cold hard cash. No digital payment."
"Hidden in old HDB estate, surrounded by new condo and BTO, never expect to find a gem " cai fun aka curry rice" stall here. The qq is always about 20+, v good business but turnover v fast.food is good."
"If you need a ridiculously affordable and satisfying meal, Goldhill Family Restaurant is the spot. This place is famous for its economical rice (cai png), with prices starting from an unbelievable $2 for a 1-meat, 1-vegetable plate. It’s the definition of budget-friendly eating. The Absolute Must-Try: Don't leave without grabbing their legendary fried chicken wings—they are the best value item at just $1.10 per piece. They are crispy, juicy, and worth the trip alone. The Catch: Expect a long queue, especially during meal times, because word is definitely out about this delicious hidden gem!"
"Went down on weekday lunch at 11+ and queue was already at 10+ people. Food is average, nothing wow, each person queueing order or takeaway a couple of portions. Chicken wings are value for money and most people order 2-4 each. Once it hits 12+ noon, the queue starts to go crazy long, probably at least 20+ easily."
